Updates to Protocol Form Sections D and L.3: Effective 12/14/18 Question 1 of the form now asks for each chemical's CAS (Chemical Abstract Service) number when available.
Change in Recording Animal Experience/Training: Effective 6/7/2018 It is no longer a requirement to report animal users' years of experience with the procedures they will perform. PIs will indicate whether animal users are proficient with the procedures they will perform or need training on those procedures. When an animal user need training only the trainer's name is required, the trainer's years of experience with the procedure is not required.
This change affects the Procedural Experience and Contact List (PECL), and PDF Amendment Forms A, B, and C. Examples of how to complete the PECL and Amendment Forms can be found on the Guides Page under News and Resources.
Review Policy Change for 3-Year Rewrites: Effective 6/1/2018 3-year rewrites may be reviewed by Designated Member Review (DMR), which is done electronically by two or more designated IACUC members. DMR is typically more efficient - review starts ~5 business days after 3-year rewrite submission. A possible outcome of DMR is that one or more designated reviewers may send the 3-year rewrite to Full Committee Review. If you want your 3-year rewrite to be reviewed by DMR, submit the rewrite a week or more before the due date in the 3-year rewrite reminder email for your protocol.
Signature Sheet No Longer Required: Effective 1/16/2018 The PI signature sheet has been removed from the database and is no longer required for any protocol submissions. The online PI certification form must be completed as part of each submission.
